    How to Keep Your Audience Hooked

    Gone are the Pied Piper days of Social Media, it’s no longer about who gets the largest number of likes or collects the most followers. Social Media Marketing has now shifted to a battle of engagement. Hooking your audience in is no longer enough. You have to keep them interested. You have to keep them hanging on to your every word. More importantly, you have to keep them wanting for more. The question is, how? Here are a few tips: 

    1. Create

    You’re fans, and followers expect something new from you all the time. If they don't you putting up new content on a consistent basist, they'll simply look elsewhere to scratch their itch. Make sure to regularly create content for your audience and give them reasons to keep coming back.

    2. Entertain

    Let’s face it; one of the reasons people log into Facebook and Twitter is to pass their time and look for something interesting. They view friend’s photos, check out the latest goings-on, repost funny videos or just share funny memes.

    Entertainment is a sure-fire way of engaging your audience. While that might seem obvious at first, you have to put in the hard work and find just what might grab your audience’s attention. Test by posting stunning pictures, relatable quotes, throw in a couple of videos. Just make sure that whatever you use, to tie it back to your brand.

    3. Inform

    Consumers use the Internet to find Information; so include handy pieces of advice, popular trends in the industry and company news that you’d like to share with your audience. Make your audience feel like they’re getting something from you.

    4. Interact

    At its heart Social Media is simply conversation, and as we all know, conversations aren't one-sided. Don’t just feed your audience content!

    • Talk with them
    • Ask questions
    • LISTEN
    • Like their posts

    Retweet their messages If they ask you something online, respond in real-time. The best way to reach your audience is to Interact with them.

    5. Target

    Social Media is about engaging your audience. But are you engaging the right people?

    • Are their interests in line with your offerings?
    • Are they Geographically near to you?
    • Will you be able to convert your audience into paying clients?

    Marketing is changing. And it’s changing fast. Social Media is no different. We have to keep our audience interested in what we have to say. We have to keep reinventing ourselves. Or else, we’ll get left behind.
